About

Mayen is an international commercial lawyer with expertise in the energy and marine markets. She was formerly regional head of legal at international energy and marine technology group Wärtsilä, where she was responsible for legal, risk and compliance coverage for the Middle East, Asia and Australasia. Prior to this, Mayen worked for two international ship owners, where she advised on shipping and energy infrastructure projects. She is a climate and energy transition enthusiast and holds various advisory and board positions in the energy sector.

Born in London to a Trinidadian mother and Nigerian father, Mayen currently resides in Singapore. An advocate for networks and connection, Mayen has been inspired by the individuals she has met during her stint in Singapore, and their achievements and contributions in their respective fields and communities. This led to the birth of this platform – an opportunity to tell these stories, and to forge communities of networks that continue long beyond the transient ex-pat stints in Singapore.
