Highlights
Coming from mixed Caribbean roots and raised by a single mom on a secretary salary, the odds were not in favour of a successful international corporate banking career. After delivering on a lot of “firsts” in the banking sector (including the first Dutch SME fund, the first Tranched Distribution structures in Export Finance and leading the venture into new client sectors for ABN AMRO), it was time for Sergio to devote his creative energy and entrepreneurial spirit towards advancing his community’s quest to play a meaningful role at the corporate leadership table.
Fun Fact
With a height of 2.03m, Sergio was nicknamed “the tallest man in Singapore”. A nickname that is harder to sustain now that he is back in the Caribbean.
“Accepting the victim role is like handing over all your power, and relying on someone else to be the solution. Focusing on what is within your span of control and taking action gives you back your power. Now that you have the power to craft your destiny, what will you do?”
